For over 25 years, Ongata Academy has nurtured learners of excellence, discipline and strong character.
Our Story
On Monday, 4th January 2000, Mr and Mrs Melau opened the doors of Ongata Academy with a simple yet profound dream: an institution that nurtures excellence in academics, discipline and character.
It was a humble beginning: four pupils, six dedicated teachers, three support staff, and a borrowed station wagon for school transport. But a seed of greatness had been planted.
Today, Ongata Academy serves over 1,700 learners from Pre-Primary to Senior School across two campuses in Ongata Rongai and Narok, with more than 3,000 alumni thriving in Kenya and beyond.

2000
Where It All Began
Mr and Mrs Melau opened Ongata Academy with four pupils, six teachers, three support staff and a borrowed station wagon for school transport.
2004
A First Class to Remember
14 of our 18 pioneer KCPE candidates joined national schools. Our top learner scored 459/500, ranking 1st in Kajiado District and 2nd in Rift Valley Province.
2010
Ongata Senior School is Born
Marking our first decade, we opened Ongata Senior School, extending our journey into secondary education.
2013
Pioneer KCSE Success
Our first KCSE class achieved a mean score of 7.2, with most joining universities across the country.
2015
Growing to Narok
We opened our Narok campus, bringing Ongata’s quality education and values to more families.
2025
25 Years of Excellence
A quarter-century of God’s faithfulness: 1,700+ learners, two campuses and 3,000+ alumni. “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
